What is CompaRNA

The CompaRNA web server provides continuous benchmarking of freely available web servers and standalone automated methods for RNA secondary structure prediction. The aim of CompaRNA is to assess the state of the art in the field, provide a detailed picture of what is possible with the available tools, where the progress is made and what major problems remain.

Check the datasets of RNA structures that were used for benchmarking. Currently only methods predicting RNA secondary structure have been tested. The server has also created rankings for various methods to show their performance.

For additional information and support, please refer to the FAQ and Help sections. You can also consult the Methods pages of our site.

Reference RNA structures
In order to perform benchmarking, CompaRNA monitors the Protein Data Bank for the release of new RNA structures solved experimentally. The latest release of new RNA structures in the PDB database was on July 27, 2010 (16 RNA chains from 4 PDB files were extracted). CompaRNA has extracted 313 RNA structures since February 18, 2009.
