Archaeosine tRNA-guanine transglycosylase (ArcTGT) catalyses the replacement of guanine base with preQ(0) in archaea tRNAs. G(+), the following modification of preQ(0) is catalyzed by archaeosine synthetases. It is found only in position 15 in many archaeal tRNAs. Exceptionally, G(+) is found either in positions 13 and 15 in T.acidophilum , with ArcTGT from T.acidophilum having multisite specificity. ArcTGT is responsible for the formation of both G(+) 13 and G(+) 15 (Kawamura et al. 2016 ).
