COG:
UniProt: Q6P1Q9
Structures: | |
Complex: DALRD3 (for tRNA Arg substrate)
Enzyme type: methyltransferase
Position of modification - modification:

Comments:

METTL2B (similarly to METTL2A) mediates N3-methylcytidine modification of residue 32 of the tRNA anticodon loop of tRNA(Thr)(UGU) and tRNA(Arg)(CCU). The activity of METTL2 towards tRNA substrates is reduced to 1/10 in comparison to METTL2A. METTL2B protein carries 6 single amino acid substitutions comparing to METTL2A (V12I, R26S, P124C, L155P, I266V, M288V).
