Comments:
hDcp2 is a decapping enzyme that catalyzes the cleavage of the cap structure on mRNAs. hDcp2 require Mn2+ as a cofactor. hDcp2 activity is specific to N7 -methylated guanosine-containing RNA. The hDcp2 enzyme does not function on the cap structure alone and is not sensitive to competition by cap analogue, suggesting that hDcp2 requires the RNA for cap recognition ( Piccirillo et al. 2003 ).
