Comments:
A-to-I tRNA editing enzyme from chloroplasts. This enzyme has an unusual structure in that it harbors a large N-terminal domain of more than 1000 amino acids long which is not required for catalytic activity. Only the C-terminal region displays sequence similarity to the tRNA adenosine deaminase TadA from Escherichia coli. Moreover, AtTadA is imported into the chloroplast in vivo.
